Ansel Adams once said, “Twelve significant photographs in any one year is a good crop.” This still holds true even in the digital age. The world is flooded with more images now than in its history but this doesn’t mean it’s flooded with good images. So, join the Nature Photography Show in 2018 for the Ansel Adams Challenge to produce your best 12 images.
What’s the 2018 Ansel Adams Challenge? Well, I’m glad you asked.
The Nature Photography Show has set up a page on their website to pull in the hashtag #2018anseladamschallenge from Instagram. You can find the page under our Social tab above or simply by clicking HERE. Each month you should select your ONE best image and use this hashtag. The image will then appear on the Nature Photography Show’s designated page.
Nature Photographers are limited because we have to go to nature to make our photographs. Challenges help you grow your photography and can motivate you to get off the couch and go exploring!
There are three rules. Two of the them are going to be related to Ansel Adam's style and should help you start to see the world differently. The third rule is to help you make new photographs.
- The image must be Black and White
- The image must be a Landscape Photograph
- The image must be new. No looking into your past archives!
At the end of each month a photo will be chosen from those who participated in the challenge. The winner will have the opportunity to write an article regarding the image where they can explain the location, their thought process, camera settings, and post processing techniques. Then it will be featured here and on our Facebook Page. Finally, at the end of the year one of the twelve winning images will be chosen and the photographer invited to be interviewed on the podcast.
So, what do you say? Will you join the Nature Photography Show for the 2018 Ansel Adams Challenge?
